I promised my mother in law I wouldn't put her in a nursing home when her Alzheimer's started to progress. I like being a caregiver, especially at ones home, because it gives them a sense a peace and makes it easier to care for them when they are comfortable. When caring for my mother in law, I kept her clean and free of sores. The hospice nurses were surprised of her condition considering her advanced stages, even the nurses and doctors in the ER were surprised that she had no bed sores or diaper rash sores. I have been greiving my loss for too long, since 2012. I went back to school and received my phlebotomy certification and reinstated my CNA license. I am ready to get back into the workforce and give others the same loving care I gave my mother in law, I know that is what she'd want me to do.
