Lucia Dalia
I cared for Ms. Dalia mother, Maria, who is 84, she is a diabetic, has dementia, incontinence, high blood pressure and thyroid disease. I assisted with all medications and insulin shots, monitored and managed her blood sugar. I prepared meals, showered, dressed, toileted, and maintained her hygiene. I brought her to the senior center in Orange Park Florida where she could interact and have socialization, played bingo and did crafts. I took her shopping, groceries, clothing, went to the park, went out to eat, we would go to estate/garage sales. I also made supper, readied her for bedtime and put her to bed. Mrs. Linda Schaedel
I cared for Mr. Gordon and Lorraine Schaedel, their residence was in Fleming Isl, Florida. Mr. Schaedel was 92, he passed approximately a year after my care. I continued my care with Mrs. Lorraine Schaedel. I documented BP and pulse on Mr. Schaedel, prepared meals, asst. with admin. of medications for both. Took to doctor apts. for both clients. Changed Linens, laundry, light house keeping, grocery shopping, took for walks. After Mr. Schaedel passed, I took Mrs. Schaedel to the Senior Center in Green Springs, Fla. We engaged in social activities, played bingo and dominos, board games, had lunch at the center. She met a lot of people she could socialize/interact with. Took her to therapy, which she also did at home, due to hip surgery. Took her to church on Sundays, took her to get her hair done, went clothes shopping and took her to Steak & Shake for lunch or just have a ice cream float. We also went out to eat lunch once a month with the "Joy Group". She loved to play Rummy and put puzzles together, which we did every day for several hours. I would take her to "Estate Sales" in her neighborhood, she would look for angles. I tried to keep her as happy as possible, due to the loss of Gordon, I wanted her comfortable in the surroundings of her own home. We had fun and really enjoyed each other.
