I love what I do and that's what motivates me to help the people who need it. I am very caring and willing to help with anything needed to be done. I never thought that after high school this is what I would be doing, but my mom brought it up to me as an option and I had no experience and didn't think I would be fit for it, but now I can't see myself doing anything else. Something I enjoy most about being a caregiver is not only being able to help the people in need but also building the bonds that last a lifetime and being able to make peoples day.

In my position as a in home caregiver, I get started with helping my patient get out of bed with a Hoyer, assisting them with daily activities such as bathing as well as getting dressed and ready for the day. I'll tidy up with some light cleaning around the house and folding laundry before I finish my morning shift. I return in the evening to change his dressings and get him into his night clothes. I give him his urinal and provide him with whatever he needs before I leave for the night.
