Being a Caregiver to me is more about being a friend and sharing my happiness. Living life is all about being happy. A person who is not capable of doing for themselves completely deserves someone who is as caring, empathetic, and compassionate as I. Never will I treat care giving as a job because I care more to be a friend to clients. I decided to become a Caregiver after my Grandmother was hit by a car and a tumor was discovered on her brain. She needed lots of rehabilitation and communication to stimulate her memory. This allowed me to gain experience working with a stranger as she did not remember who I was. My Grandmother is now well and living on her own. Occasionally I stop by just to sit and talk because being her Caregiver allowed us to become more than family, we are now the best of friends. The type of friendship I now have with my Grandmother is one that I wish to share with as many others as I possibly can.
