About Marlen

I became a caregiver because I'm a compassionate person, I love taking care of people especially elderly people. What I like about being a caregiver is the joy it brings to my heart, the connection i make with each person, and knowing they have someone who cares and wants to help. An achievement I am proud of is knowing I was able to help someone in need. Also I have been working in caregiver for more than nine years. I'm married and I have five children. The reason I wanted to be a caregiver is because of my grandmother. She lived with me while she was sick and diagnosed with lung cancer. Despite this unfortunate disease, I felt it was time to give back for all her years of care and dedication of love towards me. She planted the seed of compassion, love and respect for others in my heart. I give thanks for being able to take care of her during her last few days. After she passes away I am devoted to prepare myself professionally to help others.
