About Laura

I cannot see myself doing anything else but providing care for others. When I was a child my parents called me the peacekeeper of the family. I tended to give a listening ear and advice when it seemed needed. Watching my father go through cancer as a teen strengthen my empathy to help others. Being a caregiver has its rewards and challenges. I have learned that a simple smile, a warm hug, and a helping hand can go a long way in bringing joy and happiness in someones heart. This is what I enjoy about being a caregiver. I am proud to say I will be finishing both my A.A. and A.S degree this year and look forward to further my education in healthcare. I continue to provide care for Alzheimer's residents with over four years of experience. I look forward to continue my care towards others. Gandhi said, “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” I believe working with those in need has been my calling card and I truly enjoy the art of care giving in multiple ways. I'm an avid reader in the science field and I like to give knowledge to better promote the well being of humanity. I believe in educating the public in overall better health and happiness which is achievable by anyone with a positive outlook.

I would love to be a caregiver. It makes me feel happy that I can make someone else's life just a bit easier everyday. I want them to be able to feel safe. I work in a dialysis, clinic and hospital setting. I always do my best to make them feel comfortable and with a smile. They love to just have someone to talk to and I love talking to them and hearing all their great stories. The best part of my life was taking care of my mom. She was ill pretty much since I was very young. Anything I was able to do for her I did. She was so happy, Sadly she decided to go into hospice but we did it at home, with me able to care for her, make her comfortable and safe. I know that's sad but I know in my heart it makes me feel happy to be able to be there for someone, make them happy and smile. I was born and raised in New Jersey and am the oldest of 6 kids. I love pets, I love to organize things and be clean. I am married to a wonderful man for 12 yrs and have helped raise my wonderful stepson and niece.

I have been a caregiver for 19 years. I love helping people and want to see them live life to the fullest. I cared for a precious lady with Alzheimers in her home till she passed away in April 2014. Prior to that I worked in hospitals and nursing facilities through an agency. I was a foster mother for several years and was able to give love to children who were hurting. My heart has always been for loving and helping others who are in need.
