About Rebecca

1. I like being a Caregiver because I really enjoy working with senior citizens. I find this field to be very rewarding and gratifying and where I can make a difference in someone's life. 2. To me, I think it's being able to put yourself in the older person's shoes and understand that they were also my age once and had the whole world at their feet. I think you need the gift of the gab to resonate with people and make them feel comfortable with you and get to know you better. Home care is a personal experience and it can be incredibly fruitful if the relationship is more caring and personal. 3. I'm proud of writing, researching and publishing a Spanish workforce education book for Orange County Public Schools in Orlando, Florida. 4. I'm originally from Orlando, Florida, and I majored in Spanish and education while attending college at UCF. I opened Dr. Phillips High School in 1987 and taught Spanish levels I - IV in addition to being involved with the International Studies Program. I was promoted to being a coordinator for three different programs, including Vocational ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages), Workforce Education and as a Migrant Advocate for the migrant student population of 425 families in Winter Garden, Florida. I also taught ESL at Valencia College in Kissimmee, Florida for 11 years as an adjunct instructor. I opened a language business in 2008 where I taught English to students from Brazil and Argentina in Orlando. I sold the business in April

I enjoy helping others and being able to be in the medical field. While in the medical field I have worked at a Children's Hospital, several nursing homes, Coalition for the Homeless, as well as several Dr.'s offices. For over the past year I have been working as a Caregiver for a local Home Health Agency. At the present time I am currently going to school to pursue my dream to be a R.N.

The reason I became a caregiver is help and care for the elderly . I love the interaction with the patients. When I was working at the Jewish Guild for the blind in New York. I aided in the care of HIV/AIDS patients. At that time It was to find members of the healthcare. Willing to provide services to that community. I love sports..
