I have grown up in a religious home, were giving has been a leading star in my upbringing. I believe strongly in giving, and to be able to help people in need makes me feel good. To be a Caregiver makes my life meaningful, and to have spent time with people in need, makes me happy. When I was a living-in Nursing Companion to a very nice lady up in Connecticut, I had long days and nights, with a lot of ups and downs. But at the end, my task was to getting the lady to feel good, happy, and well fed. Being able to see this lady, at her old workplace, was both good and sad, but very meaningful. She told me several times, that "you are the only person that threats me as an adult!" I was born in Sogamoso, Colombia, as the youngest of 5 siblings. Due to that my oldest brother needed to move to Bogota, to be able to study, all of us moved along. In our family we have very tight contacts with all our relatives, and that has given me a strong belief in myself and others. To share with others dignity and respect is something I carry with me all the time. I have three daughters, that I got very young. With a lot of family support, I was a able to build up a small business in catering. It was quite successful and I did have a lot of important customers, especially in the US Community in Bogota. Due to security reasons, I had to take my two youngest daughters with me to the USA. This was 18 years ago, and was very hard to begin with. Various jobs, led me back to the Restaurant Business. Now unfortunately I am looking for a new assignment, as my beloved client recently passed away.
