**I adopted a newborn in 2013 with my husband and we each had to complete a nationwide FBI federal background check which I will be happy to provide to a hiring family. You may contact me directly if you would prefer at twoweeks@gmail.com** Initially, I lived away from my Mom when she needed a care provider to come to her home and help her with everyday living. I remember how difficult it was to find someone that she would trust to help her with bathing, dressing and even allowing "a stranger" to touch her laundry. But we didn't want to send her to an assisted living facility, basically because the one we could afford was not one we wanted our Mom to spend the rest of her days in. Hiring an hourly caregiver seemed ideal. After my Mom passed away, the opportunity to care for a senior in my area who was suffering from dementia came along. The family was having a difficult time finding someone who their Mom (the patient) liked, their father liked and the immediate family. I had the privilege of working for this family for over 2 years and in a sense became an extension of their family. I provided daily care for their Mom, with dignity, professionalism and friendship. I did all aspects of care from bathing to dressing and meal prep. I'll never forget her, she was an amazing woman. When I care for an aging individual I will always keep my Mom in my mind and treat them with the same respect and honesty that I would want for my own parents. Keeping the family involved and informed are of utmost importance to me. I enjoy the work and really enjoy the reward as I feel seniors have so much to offer.
