I became a Caregiver for many reasons. First of all, my mother was a great CNA herself, so I was given the opportunity as a teenager to witness her care for the elder population in the nursing home as well as private duty. Just from witnessing how well she cared for these individuals and how well they responded I knew that I wanted to make this a career. Fortunately, I enrolled in a high school that offered health care classes and I also joined the HOSA club. We actually did our internship in a Nursing home and on the side I volunteered at a Alzhiemers Adult day care. From there I graduated high school with a HS diploma, Cna license, hha certification & cpr certification. Unfortunately, my cna license expired because I didn't have the money to recertify but I plan on doing so as soon as I am able. Furthmore, I knew I wanted to move up in the field so I decided to go to ITT Technical Institute for the Breckenridge School of Nursing to become a Registered Nurse. I completed two years and I'll be graduating September 25th, 2014 and my goal is to sit for the boards between October and November. While in school I gained more experience in all types of settings & units Nursing homes, Med-Surg, hospice just to name a few. I have many personal achievements that I am proud of but completing Nursing School with a 3.76 gpa, despite all the obstacles is by far the greatest feeling. I plan on furthering my education, I'm doing all of this so that I am able to provide the best care to any
