I am a physical therapist as well as a caregiver. I evaluated and performed treatments designed to improve the physical health of patients who were recently discharged from the hospital, but too sick to return home safely. It was my job to help them transition home as well as provide support and educate families about decisions regarding their loved one. But most importantly, I cared for my mother, suffering with Alzheimer's disease, at home with the help of private caregivers and family. It gave me a unique perspective to understand and relate to the special needs that families and patients have, the emotional range that occurs for both, the stages of mobility and debility that exist, and allowed me to creatively approach the physical, medical, and nurturing needs of my mom to keep her home safe until she passed.

Provided compassionate care to my mother including assistance with ADLs, medication administration, and emotional support. Collaborated with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal care. Promoted a safe and comfortable environment for her and caregivers. Implemented mobility movement strategies to facilitate functional movement in the home.
