I make a wonderful caregiver because I care. I look at every person I care for as if they were my family (and I love my family). I have a great deal of compassion and common sense. I became a caregiver because I was born to be a caregiver. I have cared for just about every elder in my family who has needed me. I really enjoy helping and just getting to know peoples life story (I find people fascinating and entertaining). I have found that I always end up learning some kind of life lesson (and that is amazing). I am currently in my 40s and my one and only child has graduated from high school. I am a wife and a daughter. My mother (best friend) currently lives with my husband and I. She will often accompany me on visits and provide companionship while I run errand, clean or cook. This way someone is always with you or your loved one. My mom AKA Joy is truly a joy and can "talk" to anyone and keep them engaged. She really has a gift. She does this just to help and because she truly just loves to talk to people. So in many cases it is a two for one deal.

Although not current, I have received my CNA certificate 10 plus years ago. I have used my skills over the years to care for family members in need. My father through his pancreatic cancer and my aunt through lung cancer.
