I entered into caregiving as there was a direct need in my family. Both of my parents were ill. I cared for my mother for 5 yrs. who had RA. It was all very natural for me as I was expected to help my family as I was growing up & was around many elderly people who I grew fond of. I feel I'm quite patient, have good judgement, domestic, listen well, have a compassionate disposition & am strong & healthy for my age. Many of my clients are younger or similar age so I relate well. I feel that I'm a good match for the seniors & I enjoy uplifting them & getting involved in whatever they take interest in. Probably one of my most rewarding assignments was working with a woman who had been an artist & since I am of the same mindset I created art therapy sessions for her which were invaluable for an Alzhimiers patient. I also continued my caregiver position even though the wife expired as I was so well recognized in the home & helped the widower for several years with his home.
