why I became a caregiver? it started when I was fifteen years old my mother was in the hospital she had cancer, I could not believe how some nurses in the hospital were treating her, also when we took her home we had a hard time finding some one who really cared about the people they were taking care of fortunately after going through many people we found a wonderful person to help us live out the last days dignity. what I like ? spending time with elderly people also making sure they are treated with respect. Proud of ? moving to America to help support my son and making sure he had every opportunity to achieve his goals, also learning English, and becoming an American citizen. I worked in Colombia for 18 years for a publishing company, I moved to America in 1999 lived in New York till 2005 came to Florida to visit my sister fell in love with the Florida weather started care giving full time in 2006 for a private patient in a nursing home became H.H.A certified and started taking care of people in their residency.
