I became a caregiver in my 20's as I had older relatives who needed assistance in many ways. I enjoyed helping family members in their time of need. Love spending time with them and listening to their stories of old! In 2010 I started working for a professional care giving service and really enjoyed the clients I was given. Everyone has different personalities, challenges, ideas and expectations. I enjoyed laughing with them, crying with them in their challenges, we shared our ideas and expectations. I have with every client went above and beyond their expectations, as well as, their families. I made each day I was with them to laugh, go for a ride, play a board game or just sit and tell stories of the past. I love to cook for my clients, I ask them what they want to eat and then put something on their plate that is really healthy and possibly new that they haven't eaten before. They really enjoyed the surprise. I am proud of myself for treating all my clients with respect, being able to speak to everyone with different speech tones, depending on their disability, and being absolutely trustworthy, always arriving at least 10 to 15 minutes ahead of my shift, and being professionally dressed. I treat all clients as if they were my Mother or my Father.
