I'm very proud of the fact that I went back to college at the age of 30 and got my college degree.

I am a great caregiver because I respond well to the elderly. I've had a strong passion for as far back as I can remember. When my grandmother passed away from Dementia I devoted myself to be around the elderly in every possible way. To volunteering in homes, to joining programs like adopting a grandparent which technically meant to go into assisted livings and be there, read, draw, hang out or help get involved in daily activities. When I discovered that this was the field I wanted to be in I took classes. I took every class possible about gerontology, aging, wellness, mental health, Alzheimer's, dementia, and then the risk of dying, learned about hospice. I then received every certification of every course I have taken. And now I am 29 and I know this is the field I want to be in. Today I work part time as a companion/aide. I have one client I take care of who has Parkinson's and I take her to every doctors appointment, therapist, physical therapy, help her grocery shop or clean or do laundry and more than anything I am a friend. I am a listening ear with a passionate heart and try to give as much positivity out as I can. I love this line of work there is nothing more rewarding then helping anyone who needs it.
