My name is Emily Yates and I'm 25 years old. I have worked as a Direct Care Professional for many years assisting clients with their daily living including, meal prep, housekeeping, medication, transporting, appointment and many others. I have worked with clients from ages 2months old to 85 years old. I have also worked with clients with multiples disorder such as autism, cerebral palsy, mild retardation, bipolar and many more. I'm also CPR and First Aid Certified. Here is a little background about me. I was born in Liberia West Africa and came to the united state in 2007 when I was 14 years old. I graduated high school in 2011 and went to college a week after high school. I was accepted into a scholarship program right after high school and started college that summer after graduating. Prior to entering college I knew I wanted to study psychology and become a marriage and family counselor but after taking few general ed. classes, I became excited and wanted to studying everything! In fact I remembered changing my major like 4 times. Long story short, I ended up staying 5 years in college and graduated with a double major in Fashion design and psychology and a minor in human development and family study. After graduating college I decided to move to Atlanta to pursuit my career in fashion design. When I arrived God had another plan for me. In fact, I was hired few days after arrival to be a makeup artist for a movie production. I had no clue that my hobby was now going to be my new career. Along with doing movies, I work as a direct care professional and luxury sales at Pottery Barn kids. When I came across this site, I knew this will be the perfect job for me being that it is something very familiar and I have lots of experience in. I love helping and assisting people and creating a positive impact to their lives. This kind of work brings me joy and a sense of purpose. I will love to be a part of making my new clients world easier!
