What's makes me a great caregiver is the fact that it's who I am by default. My aunt was a activities coordinator, so that's where I got my humble beginnings. I never had a nurturing environment while young. So once I seen how the residents reacted to my aunt, I was instantly hooked. Now I understood why she took so much time and detail. Once my aunt fell ill to copd, the place she worked for then became her home. That's when I really blossomed into a real caregiver... Out of wanting to be there for her. So to me empathy and compassion are my biggest personality traits and what championioned my cause in life. What I enjoy the most is the look of satisfaction when I do my job correctly. I enjoy the residents smiles and appreciation, kinda feels a empty void. I remember the day I graduated from my C.N.A school.... She was the only one I wanted to call... But she was.....
