About Jessica

Although my first name is Jessica, my friends and family call me Lani (Lay-knee). I have very developed skills regarding time management, communication, and timeliness which makes me a reliable caregiver. I also have experience with assisting in activities of daily living, such as feeding, walking, bathing, dressing, and talking. I have completed my training for my CNAs, and am scheduled to test for the certification in mid-August. I am a full time duel enrollment student, which means that I am completely enrolled in college courses although I am still not graduated from high school. This makes my schedule more flexible, as I only have classes four days a week and I get out no later than 13:15. Although I am younger than most applicants, I make up for that with a large willingness to learn, a ton of energy, a lot of respect, a bit of experience, and a lot of heart. Availability: Sunday- All Day Monday: Anytime after 13:00 Tuesday: Anytime after 14:00 Wednesday: Anytime after 13:00 Thursday: Anytime after 14:00 Friday: All Day Saturday: All Day

Experience & Education

Cashier, USCAN Attendant

Aug 2017 - Present
Ingles Markets
While at Ingles Markets, I have been able to master the skill of communication as well as time management- this skill was especially useful on USCAN, where I dealt with four customers once. I practice mathematical skills daily, as well as speed and accuracy. Although this job was not in the medical field, it has shown me how to be compassionate to individuals in mass amounts as well as how to manage multiple tasks at one time.

Volunteer

Jun 2016 - Present
Wellstar Paulding Hospital
While volunteering at Wellstar Paulding Hospital, I have worked in a variety of areas including the Emergency Room, Main Information Desk, Out Patient Infusion, Technical Communications, and Patient Floors. While here I have even furthered my tolerance to medical issues, my ability to communicate with others, my ability to give care, and my ability to manage time while continuing to be compassionate. I have done multiple things, such as assisting in triage, keeping sick patients company, showing compassion, programming technologies, and more.

Volunteer

Dec 2017 - Present
Wellstar Paulding Nursing Center
I also volunteer at the Wellstar Paulding Nursing Center, where I assist with resident activities, communication, keeping the elders company, and more. This has allowed me to become more comfortable around older individuals, which once intimidated me.

CNA Clinicals

Jan 2018 - Feb 2018
Wellstar Paulding Nursing Center
While doing my clinicals at the Wellstar Paulding Nursing Home, I performed a variety of skills on patients. This included catheter care, dressing of wounds, changing clothes, feeding, assisting with the bathroom, bathing, and much more. I was able to become comfortable with the guidelines that a CNA follows, while still keeping my title as a volunteer on those days.

I worked in home healthcare as a caregiver for many years. I have always chosen jobs that allow me to interact with people because patience and interacting with all types of people are my strong points. I learned so much from the people I worked for that it really enriched my life. Since most of my clients suffered from Arthritis I took classes in Arthritis care and treatment and aim certified to teach land and water Arthritis exercise classes. I am also certified in CPR. For the past three years I have been a volunteer at St. Baldricks, a non profit charity for childhood cancer. This reinforced to me how important it is for any family to have support for their family members when they can't be there. I really enjoy being able help families know that their loved ones are in good hands.
