I am a certified CNA... leaving the facility Ive worked at for almost 7 yrs, to care for a family member on hospice. I enjoyed my job alot and loved my patients. I worked 7-3pm, full time in Carroll county , Georgia. I became a cna again (previously I was a CNA in 1983),,after living out of the country for 9 yrs. The only job I could find -( being out of the country so long) was in housekeeping at a local nursing home.I looked into a rapid cna class and worked all weekends to go to school durring the week. Finished that, and had been at the Carrollton Georgia, facility ever since. Upon leaving my job, I had alot of family members saying they'd give me their refrences. I loved my job and go back to see my residents I cared for regularly.My co-workers keep me up to date on the residents.Im good at what I do, and try to keep everything "normal" for the patient.I believe they do better at home than in a facility,And I believe whatever they can do for example(stand & pivot) they should continue doing ,because Once the patient stops -they cannot get it back. My other charges in my care, are a large horse and big dog,that I care for daily after work , in the late afternoon & evenings.
