I am the mother of three daughters, age range 19-10. My family has a history of various types of cancer as well as dementia/alzheimers. I assisted my mother with my grandmother and grandfather who both suffered from one or more of these illnesses, as well as cared for my mother throughout her kemo treatments for hodgkins's lymphoma. I took them to treatments, as well as cleaned, cooked, bathed, gave medications. I know my career history in mainly in optical field, but I have compassion for everything I do and always felt that a home care giver was where I should be. My eldest daughter is going to school for nursing, and my mother was an in home care giver for years. I would say its in my DNA to care for those who can not care for themselves.
