I became a caregiver because of my mother, At the age of 10 my mother died and I couldn't do nothing to help her. So I decided to get in the medical field for that reason. I love being a caregiver because it is a passion of mine to see people smile, and live there life to the fullest. Some of my achievements are attending school for certification, and also I am now enrolled in school for Health Information Systems and Business Administration. I chose this field because I want to make sure the patients get the treatment, respect, and etc they deserve. I have a history of 30 years as a caregiver. I started as a Home Health Aide in Hospice with 2 companies for 7 years. American Hospice and Central Hospice, due to a back injury I left the company and started private duty from the recommendation of one of my Hospice nurses. A month after starting with Hospice that I hadn't ever heard of at the time, I felt I had found my calling in life. I'm a great Caregiver because I treat my patients as my own family, I show respect to the family and their needs and try to recommend the best scenario for the family needs. 98% of my private jobs has been from past families. My very first family of over 20 years ago I'm still in touch with. I having had two clients on the LVAC heart machine. Cooking, laundry and light housekeeping.
