Have been blessed to be a part time & full time caretaker/and befriend Ms. Betty, a 66 year young mildly retarded adult. Detest that word (retarded) but must explain the extent of my duties these last 18 months. I consider my duties expected of me to care for ANYONE 'S family member in any capacity much more than just a job and a paycheck. My duties include and not limited to: Upon awakening I greet her with enthusiasm no matter her mood, give all medications as prescribed (shots if needed), make and feed her breakfast (limited foods she can intake), bathe and dress most days. I also, assist her to her favorite chair near the window. I have endless duties to list at this time in an 12 or 24 hour period. Please do not hesitate to contact me and ask. I am an open book and always relay everything I observe (mentally &physically). I drive her to Dr.'s appointments (with wheelchair), take her to the park in spring and fall, my goal is to keep her spirits up. 18 months ago she tragically & suddenly lost her Mother. Still is heart wrenching hearing her beg for her back. This will give you an idea of my caring soul, heart felt kindness and I am relentless to put a smile on their face and give them hope.
