I took care of my grandad full-time during his various cancer bouts for several years, most intensely during the last several months of his life as one of his cancers came back. After his death, I took care of my handicapped mom full-time for 6 months before she moved into an assisted living facility. My care of my grandad and mom included taking to doctor/dentist appointments, ER, and cancer treatments, giving medication, wound care, care of grandad's colostomy bag, cleaning up after, bathing, hair washing/drying and grooming, haircuts, facial hair care, nail trimming, dressing, getting in and out of a bathtub/bed/chair, and walking. I also cooked, cleaned, did laundry, ran errands, paid bills, and organized. The biggest organizing I did was the contents of my grandad's office building with all the paperwork (decades worth of lawyer and personal paperwork that I organized into keep, recycle, burn/shred). I still take my mom to doctor appointments/urgent care/ER and manage her medications, as well as give necessary aid when needed. I handle the bill pay for her stay at the assisted living facility.

I took care of his elderly parents in their 90s for 1 year, in which I prepared meals, did some cleaning, some laundry, trash removal, bed turn-downs, bedside toilet emptying, and the following assistance with just his father: mobility with wheelchair, gait belt, and walker, medications, bed baths, grooming, restroom assistance and recording necessary information, taking nightly blood pressure several times per night and recording the results, and other miscellaneous tasks as needed. I also organized the fridge and pantry and removed all expired items, and I organized the bedside table of the father with all his medical supplies.
