I have been a caregiver for 8 years i started out taking care of family members and i found that i was very patient and nurturing with them,so when anyone in the family would get ill they would call me to take care of them and i found it gave them and myself great comfort,i became a certified medication technician in 2007 and i've taken comar classes,alzheimer/dementia classes and geriatrics classes.Becoming a CMT and working in this field gave me the experience i needed to take care of my own mother when she became terminally ill with lung cancer,instead of putting her in a facility i was able to quit my job and take care of her until her last day,which was a honor for me to take care of her after she took care of me.
