I started as a care professional in 1976. I owned and operated my care giving business for children until Dec 2007. I opened Delaney Care Giving in Jan 2008 operated that until. June 24 2016 when I restructured my business as a nonprofit organization. I am a true at heart Care Professional.

I am currently canvassing the community for a position that will allow me to work with the general public. I have 20 years experience in the medical field. I was introduced to the world of healthcare and caregiving when I was just a child transitioning into my teen years. I took care of my grandmother when she was ill up until she passed and she would constantly tell me how fine of a nurse I would be. It was this experience that attracted me to the field of caregiving. Following this I took some CNA classes and it was caregiving from there. I have a passion for helping people and being a caregiver has enabled me to fulfill this passion. It joys me to see my patients happy and full of positivity. It makes me smile to know that the care I provide can make them feel better, and makes them feel comfortable, allowing them to feel loved and cared for. This is what I enjoy most about my field of work. I am a great listener and pay much attention to their needs, and their care, and am a very effective communicator. I love being a caregiver.

What are your personality traits or expertise that help you be a great caregiver? I'm a naturally compassionate and patient person, and I've always been someone who others feel comfortable around. I take pride in being a good listener and staying calm in stressful situations. These traits really help me connect with the people I care for and make sure they feel safe, supported, and respected. What attracted you to being a caregiver? I've always loved helping others, and I knew from an early age that I wanted to do something meaningful with my time and energy. Being a caregiver allows me to make a real difference in someone's life every day, whether it's through providing physical support or just being there emotionally for someone who needs it. That's what drew me to this field. What do you enjoy most about being a caregiver? What I enjoy most is building relationships with the people I care for. Even small moments like sharing a laugh, offering comfort, or seeing someone feel more at ease because of something I did mean a lot to me. It's incredibly fulfilling to know that I'm having a positive impact on someone's life. What is a personal achievement you are proud of? One personal achievement I'm really proud of is that I'm currently in college and doing well in my classes. Balancing school and caregiving can be challenging at times, but I stay motivated because I know it's all part of building the future I want one where I can continue helping people in an even bigger way.

Passion for care field

As early as the 4th grade I preferred to be around the elderly. Everyday after school and during the summer was spent with Grandma and papa. Grandma and I would talk and watch big valley, Then I would walk papa to the store since he could not see. From there I took classes for activity director and help jobs both private and in group homes. The elderly have so much to share and only want to be treated with kindness and dignity. I have also held a job as a back office nursing assistant. I love being around people, However the elderly hold a special place for me. I have done some hospice. and post operation care. It is important to make them comfortable.

I like working with people who need assistance.One of my patients just needed some extra attention while living in a LTC facility, and I was able to help her to get better and go home. That was such a joyous occasion! She was not very old, and working with her was very easy. I have been caring for people since I was 12 yrs old. One lady was a friend of my great grandma who was paralyzed. She had some pics of her standing up between two of her friends. She was a tall lady. She always wanted me to care for her cats. I cared for a neighbor near my parents house. She only had one arm and needed help opening cans, sweeping, cooking and laundry in an old fashioned ringer washer.I have worked in WA and in CA as a CNA and had an EMT license to supplement my skills. I have also worked for a hospice company in CA. I cared for patients in their homes that had Alzheimers, Cancer, AIDS, and more. One patient I cared for in my home in a w/c who had Downs syndrome and Celiacs disease and no teeth. He had to see a nutritionist to find the proper diet which was mostly rice and meat.

I practiced as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Georgia for 25 +years. .I have extensive knowledge and experience in numerous areas of nursing from dialysis to adult and pediatric homehealth, mental health and assisted living facilities with an emphasis on Alzheimer's and dementia resident's. I have worked as a private live-in / live out caregiver for the past 10 years. I have had clients who needed minimal care and those with extensive care needs I am a very down to earth no nonsense type of person. I enjoy the companionship of our elders . I am dependable, hardworking and treat my clients as if they were my own family. I am available Friday evenings, Saturday, Sunday, Monday day or night and Tuesdays day time

I have always been a caregiver. I started out at age 15 with children. They were all walks of life. Special needs and not. Then 10 years later at 25 I moved to Washington state to help with my grandfather. He was pretty independent. In 2016 he became disabled. I stepped up and became his full-time caregiver. I fell in love with caring for the elderly. I loved hearing all of his military stories. I then went to school to be a certified nursing assistant.
