I have worked in a nursing facility more than half my life. I Would say less then 10% want to be there. Most miss there hose family and pets. After watching this devastation over the years I have decided to fix it. I AM 42 I am a mother of 4. I have 3 boys 1 girl ages are 25, 22, 20, and 12. I know the struggle and stress that comes with Aging love ones while juggling work and house chores. What I offer is a way you can be stress free. An example of what we do would be as followed. I cook and have a licence. I will do all the cleaning. I have a handicap bus to drive them (you) anywhere you need to go. It is my please to ease my patient every day needs to help them in life and to enjoy life as possible.

My role as a caregiver initially started when I was 17. My Grandmother broke her hip and I lived with her to help her live independently in her own home again. This was not a paid position but one out of love and respect for my grandmother. 13 years later she was my Maid of honor, danced down the aisle at my wedding, at the age of 87. I've always enjoyed working with people in various stages of their lives. About 4 years ago, I became very ill and after 3 hospitalizations, I was transferred to a nursing home for a month. I had to learn to walk again. That experience reminded me of seeing various emotions of my grandmother when I was 17. However, this time it was me that was in her shoes, except I was at the mercy of strangers. I now understood the roller coaster of emotions that my grandmother verbalized. I made many friends in my stay at the nursing home. It was actually very sad when I left. My friends I made there wanted me to stay and work there....both clients and staff. That was when I decided to become a caregiver to help others continue to live independently in their own homes. I love what I do. I know my clients enjoy my presence in their lives. And that feeling has no price tag.

What makes me great caregiver is my patients, empathy and compassion. I understand that slowing down is a process of aging. Allow elderly to move at their own pace without making them feel like they are being rushed provides them with the sense of independence. I do care about their concerns and frustrations due to their life changes. I am dependable and I understand the importance of being on time and prepared to preform schedule duties. I am positive and happy person who enjoys helping others and love to make others smile! :)
