I love cooking and love helping the elderly in need.. I have been in health care since I was 21 . My biggest achievement would be I have been working at the nursing home now for 30 years. Two personality traits that have helped me within care giving is that I am very patient and my demeanor is very calm. What makes me a great caregiver is that I take my time and sit down and talk to the person im caring for. Ask them what they like and dislike and how I can help them without making them feel helpless. I always want to care for people since I was a small child. Growing up watching my mom do it and then having to take care of my own grandmother while she was battling lung cancer. What I enjoy about being a caregiver is that you can learn so much about people that everyone is different. Learning how they grew up and the goals they made makes me want to better myself as a person. My personal goal i have met? This hits hard. I was a young mom at 15 so I was put threw a lot of hoops. My biggest goal was actually getting my GED going to college and becoming the caring loving person I am today. My kids always make strive to do better and be a great teacher to them. I became a caregiver caring for my sister with autism and then my grandfather who had a tracheotomy and needed a caregiver and I cared for him. I realized as a teen that I had a gift for helping people and wanted to do it as a career.

I am a retired RN, I retired 5 years ago to take care of my Mother the last two years of her life, so I am very aware of the importance of reliable care of your loved one. I do currently have my Ohio license but am not really looking for "nursing" jobs. I have very reliable transportation, CPR certified. I do babysit in my home during the day 2 to 3 days a week so most availability is evenings and Saturdays.
