My name is samantha i go by sam i am 31 years young and i have experience in home care and in an assisted living home including dementia certification, trach and vent training, ability to use a hoyer lift, bathing, cooking, cleaning, sponge bath, turning, ive even put a catheter in before, med dispense, also amongst other things. I used to care for mother untill she passed away she had ALS i watched her through every stage and by the end of it she was vent dependent. I enjoy working in home care because it feels good to help others and use my knowledge for good. I have my own vehicle and i already work a full time job as a resident assistant in an assisted living facility.I am currently looking for something part time.

I love cooking and love helping the elderly in need.. I have been in health care since I was 21 . My biggest achievement would be I have been working at the nursing home now for 30 years. I am prn now since I have become full time third shift caregiver.. I do firsts and seconds When they need me to. Love spending time with my family!!

Two personality traits that have helped me within care giving is that I am very patient and my demeanor is very calm. The great stories and advice from previous residents are what have attracted me into the caregiving side. I love spending quality time and being there to be a support system for the residents. One personal achievement I am proud of is that one of my pieces of poetry that I wrote back in September was selected to be published in a poetry book.
