I became a caregiver because I love helping others and caring for those who can't perform or need assistance with their daily activities. When I was a young girl my mother was diagnosed with MS and my siblings and I were responsible for helping her with her daily activities and from that moment forward I knew that was my calling. I have had a passion for caring for seniors at a very young age. It all started with me caring for my neighbor Ms. Jackson when I was just 13 years old but she didn't have any children but she as always so kind to me. I've worked in a nursing home, have had some private duty cases and I've cared for adults with disabilities. My grandmother ran a group home for children with disabilities and I believe this is where my passion to care for others came from. I take pride in providing care for those who can't care for themselves anymore. I feel that just because you've gotten older and can't do for yourself as you once did, you should still be able to maintain your dignity and self respect. That is my goal as a provider to help each individual maintain as much independence as possible and to provide the best care needed. I've care for many people in my life time but the return on what I've gained is beyond words.

I believe in delivering quality of life for seniors and clients of any age! Showing compassion through sincere listening and being present for the clients I care for is a top priority. Through home visits with various agencies, live-in care, and working with an Assisted Living Center my combined services to the elderly have helped me thrive in the industry of caring. In the realm of younger folks, I drove a school bus for years and taught home schooled children including my own. I taught a class on self-empowerment based on the Chicken Soup for the Soul book series too. The classes I taught were an eye-opener and perhaps opened the door to a new way of viewing life. The life experiences I've had with Seniors who have become family to me and ultimately my friends has given me much more than I could have possibly conceived of giving to them! I found that with kids, being present and seeing the beautiful gifts they have inside always brought those gifts out with the acknowledgement. The services I've provided are most assuredly a soul's calling! Senior care and working with younger folks has been a perfect fit with my desire to make a difference with others, and the kind of career I totally enjoy! I have a knack for understanding human nature and the needs of the heart and naturally, I learned this through my own life experiences. We all are truly one when it comes to matters of the heart and what this life means! Applying the knowledge of our oneness is what the care of others is all about. I'm seeing my own reflection in the hearts of those that I serve in this type of work. From that seeing, I give the best of who I am to others!
