I love helping the elderly. I have worked in a nursing home and I absolutely loved it. While working in the nursing home I collected certificates in dementia, Alzheimer's , and proper care for elders. I mainly worked in the memory unit. My love for helping the elderly since I was a kid played a huge part in wanting me to be a caregiver. I just have a heart for helping. The thing I like most about being a caregiver is being able to listen when they give advice and I love doing thier hair and making them look nice. A personal achievement I'm proud of is my prayer life. It has gotten so much better than before. I always keep God first.

I love taking care of people. I grew up taking care of my grandparents an loved doing this as a person I feel as if everybody should love an support to people that need help from caregivers. An I would love to care for anybody that needs my care an love an support I started doing caregiving work because I had grandparents that was in need an that was the highlight of my life. An then started caring for others I enjoy caring for others an helping them do stuff they love to most.

I have been a caregiver for 11 years. I love the work I do! I thoroughly enjoy getting to know my clients and learning how I can better assist them. I also take pride in being able to make their life easier while encouraging them to do what they still can for themselves. My favorite part is the relationship I have with my clients, getting to know them and learning about their life. I enjoy learning from them and hope they can learn something from me as well. I have a very caring, positive and patient personality. I am an advocate of the vulnerable population. I believe the number one trait for a great care giver is to truly care about the people we are taking care of. It is a good feeling at the end of a day knowing I made someone's day better.

I have worked in Healthcare for almost 9 years. I started very young & I enjoy working with people and helping them with anything they would need. It definitely makes me feel good knowing that I'm a very reliable person & someone can count on me.

I believe that every individual deserves to live as happy, safe, and fulfilling a life as possible and care for my clients like they are my own family. My name is Vanessa Bland and I love being a caregiver. What attracts me to being a caregiver is that my whole family is in the health field and thats something that I also wanted to do. I'm proud of continuing my education into the nursing field. I have my certification in medical assistant and medication aide for adult care. I'm currently taking all my prerequisites classes needed to get into the nursing program at James Sprunt Community college. I enjoy seeing my residents happy and satisfied. I enjoy my Alzheimer's patients the most because they can tell me their whole life story and it makes my day hearing their experiences, I feel so encouraged to come to work because my residents tell me how good of a job I do for them! I got attracted into the health care filed because I wanted a stable career and I wanted to make sure that I do something with my life that I actually enjoyed. I want to come to work happy and leave happy! I have 6 months experience as being a CNA at a nursing home. I assist with ADL, bathing, showers, feeding, mail care, hair care, catheter care, perineal care, cleaning,, using lifts to transfer , changing occupied and unoccupied beds, charting , weights, changing briefs, assisting residents to the rest room using a transfer belt or walker, cleaning out bedside commode.
