I started of in the caregiving field with taking care of my grandfather. In the process I got to learn a lot and I did enjoy doing it. I treat every client like my own family with love and compassion. Every client had different needs, so I get to understand the client first and foremost. I mostly enjoy the learning process in caregiving, no matter how long one has been a caregiver, we get to learn new things every time. I once had a client who had dementia (late stage), who did not want to go to bed (it was late at night). One thing that the client enjoyed was watching animal documentaries . I showed the client pictures of different animals that I had taken when I went to Kenya and the client calmed down and I was able to redirect the client to bed. My patience with the client helped me assure the client that I was on her side. This scenario really made me proud of the caregiver that I'm becoming. I love what I do.

I genuinely care about other people regardless differences and challenging characteristics; I don’t judge people and give them their privacy as well as take care of them with the best care and to their liking and comfort needs. I make sure things are done right and don’t take shortcuts, I’m honest, loyal, and compassionate towards other people. Why did you become a caregiver? I became a caregiver because I realized I listened to peoples needs and wanted to help improve the quality of their lives. I’m good at taking orders and encouraging people to do their best, to bring the best in them out. What do you like about being a caregiver? I enjoy when someone is content with the quality care I provide them. I enjoy taking people’s health into my hands and being successful, by keeping them at their optimal health. I have great passion working with seniors and people who need help as well. Have developed and it has been my interest to not only work with elders and others but also to fellowship with them as well. I found it interesting and lovely especially when they tell those old stories and their words of wisdom great asset.

I had a brother who passed from cancer and a mother who passed from dementia. After caring and helping both mother and brother I felt very compassionate for others.
