I am a very fun-loving person. I love to make people feel welcomed, and I have a soft spot in my heart for our Kupuna. I feel that they have laid down the framework for our lives and now that they are aging and may not be able to care for themselves, it is our responsibility to do for them. I am very understanding and I am symathetic towards their needs and wants. And I am very compassionate. Before I was employed at Windward Seniors Day Care Center, I took care of my Great-Grandfather who had Alzheimer's and my Father who passed away from Cancer in 2005. One reason I love being a caregiver is because I get to know the participants. I love talking to them and sharing my stories with them and listening to theirs in return. I am proud of myself because because I finally found my niche. I love being around these people and throughout these years, it is a very rewarding feeling to know that at the end of the day when I go home to my family, that I have helped make someone else's day brighter and happier.

Being that I have been there for a while, myself and two other co-workers made up the "Senior Staff". Our responsibility is to oversee the other staff members. The participants safety is my number one priority. On a daily basis, I am responsible for walking with the participants, whether they need assistance with a walker, cane, gaitbelt, or if they are independent, transferring participants from a wheelchair to a normal chair, or vice-versa, taking participants to the restroom and make sure they are clean, and if they are not, change their depends and id need be, change their clothing and/or bathe them. I also conduct range of motion exercises with the participants to keep their bodies moving and keep them engaged. I also help prepare the morning snack, lunch, and afternoon snack, and assist with feeding.
