became a caregiver because i worked at hospitals and so many of the elderly patients when going home had no one to care for them at home. so i decided and go out in that field of in home care and have been doing it for the last 22 yrs. what i like about being a caregiver is the fact that you work one on one and get to know the clients needs very well and i am not in a time clock or just a number as to working in facilities. Personal achievement is that i get so involved with the family n the elderly that after a while they are like family to me and i like going extra miles in helping out and not just for the amount of pay. i live in Sun City, CA. and have been very proud of myself in helping out the elderly because at the end of the day its always very rewarding.

I have been a caregiver for 40 years. I started very young. I Have worked in the medical field for many years. I was a medical assistant, Experience includes Radiology, Phlebotomy. I have worked in hospitals as well as privately as a caregiver. I speak 2 other languages , Spanish and Italian. I have knowledge of medications, first aid and CPR. I am experience in caring for people with Cancer,, Alzheimer, Parkinson, kidney dialysis, liver transplant Heart attacks, stoke, neuropathy diabetes, hypertension, and patients in hospice.

After high school, I attended Maric college of medical careers. (medical assisting course.) After graduating, I worked in family practice as a back medical assistant. I continued my Education by taking an EMT course at Mesa College. From there I worked as an respiratory tech for a home oxygen therapy company. After starting a family, I worked as program manager for a senior congregant lunch program. I relocated from Ocean Beach to Oceanside and have been working as an independent contractor on several different cases. I love the work I do and I'm good at it. I'm reliable, dependable, trustworthy, outgoing and friendly. I have reliable transportation with a good driving record and can easily pass a background check. I don't drink smoke or do drugs... What drove me to be a caregiver is when i realized the need to serve and help others. This passion came when I lived with my grandmother who i loved dearly and as she aged i realized she needed care day by day. I automatically became a caregiver to her, a job I have come to love and perfect professionally. My reliability, patience, privacy, respect and hard work are some of my personality traits that drives me to ensure I cultivate a closer bond and be a great caregiver. seeing the satisfaction that is derived from my caregiving, gives me joy and motivates me to do my best.
