As the caregiver of your loved one I am responsible for the direct care of patients, clients, or residents of the facility or agency or person that and whom I work for. I assist with daily activities, such as dressing, bathing, and eating. I also have a role in keeping them safe and comfortable. I became a nurses aide because I once was a full time Single mother to my special needs daughter (cerebral palsy and quadriplegic). I am a natural nurturer . I believe in giving my patients confidence in range on motion (keep them moving and active )or very comfortable is my motto .

A little about myself is I have always wanted a career in healthcare no matter what the field is. I love being able to help people. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is being able to put a smile on someone's face and also being basically an extra set of hands. What attracted me to becoming a caregiver is I started off by taking care of my Grandmother who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's/Dementia in 2013 and sadly passed away in 2017. As a young adult all I knew was my grandmother. She taught me everything I knew until she got sick. Her body started to break down and I had to take care of her. I prepared her meals, breakfast and dinner and gave her showers also dressed her. She got really bad and she was forced into a nursing home because nobody was able to give her the proper care she needed. She passed away in the nursing home. I felt nothing but guilt that I didn't have the skills to take care of her so she could be comfortable at her own home. So I made an effort to be the best CNA for others on this planet. So their families can get proper care in the comfort of their homes.
