If I have any kind of developmental disability or I have become aged, weak or sick and need support, what sort of person would I like to take care of me? That is the kind of person I am. I have a lot of compassion and Love to offer. I'm patient and kind; I would do anything to make sure that the person I'm taking care of is comfortable and happy. I will make sure that they never lack what they need from me as their CNA. I believe in following rules and regulations that are laid out for me without any fail. I always admit when I'm wrong and I will always be accountable for it. I'm a caregiver.

Hi I'm Ateka, I've been a caregiver for 12 years. Working as a caregiver is very fulfilling as I enjoy seeing my clients happy and healthy. I believe that you should always take care of those who can't help themselves. In my country of Ethiopia I took care of senior citizens. We believe that the elderly should never suffer nor go into Nursing Homes to be alone. My hope is one day all people who need assistance will be able to get the quality care they need and deserve.

I have over 10 years experience as a caregiver. I have worked for home health care agencies as well as private clients. I have also worked as a live in care giver. In my career as a caregiver, I have worked with clients with various conditions including dementia, Alzheimer's, stroke, diabetes, cancer treatment, hospice. I started of in the caregiving field with taking care of my grandfather. In the process I got to learn a lot and I did enjoy doing it. I treat every client like my own family with love and compassion. Every client had different needs, so I get to understand the client first and foremost. I mostly enjoy the learning process in caregiving, no matter how long one has been a caregiver, we get to learn new things every time. I once had a client who had dementia (late stage), who did not want to go to bed (it was late at night). One thing that the client enjoyed was watching animal documentaries . I showed the client pictures of different animals that I had taken when I went to Kenya and the client calmed down and I was able to redirect the client to bed. My patience with the client helped me assure the client that I was on her side. This scenario really made me proud of the caregiver that I'm becoming. I love what I do.

I being the first born in my family have done a lot of care in different areas. I was taught by my parents how to love,give attachment, attention, protection and help regardless the kind of situation. I've always been trying to help the elderly back home in severe cases and have been doing this out of my heart I was also a teacher and a counselor back home and this helped me very much to know how I can chip in and give some care I'm always happy when I see someone out of danger and is having some peace. This caregiving job is extremely good because when you are with your clients you relate with them and therefore you feel in the right place and in another family setting. I really enjoy because I feel them as my family forks. I've realized quite some reasonable changes generally in my clients lifestyle and health improvements .when I see they are confident and are trusting me for their care I feel good and honored, so I feel proud of my achievement.

I have compassion and empathy for my clientele. I became a caregiver after I came to this country a while ago and I immediately loved it. I like caregiving, because I get to make a difference in someone's life by the end of the day. Personal achievement is the friendship that I have with the clients and their families.

I genuinely care about other people regardless differences and challenging characteristics; I don’t judge people and give them their privacy as well as take care of them with the best care and to their liking and comfort needs. I became a caregiver because I realized I listened to peoples needs and wanted to help improve the quality of their lives. I enjoy when someone is content with the quality care I provide them. I enjoy taking people’s health into my hands and being successful, by keeping them at their optimal health. I am proud to have become a well-informed healthcare professional that knows how to care for any individual with any kind of condition due to all my experience and skills obtained from training.

My expertise comes along when I started working in rehabilitation I gained a lot of experience on how to take care of elderly, how age changes attitude in human being and how to deal with it. After I took care of my grandmother that's when I get interest in caregiver and I enjoy being a caregiver because I surely change older peoples life and somehow proud of this because one family told be that due to my care I gave their mother more years to live because she had companion and someone to take her out while family is busy.
