I am a dual major student at Alabama State University studying Social work and Psychology with a 3.76 GPA. I am very kind and I love working with people. Before I move to Montgomery. I moved in with my grandparents for 5 years and cared for them every since. I loved being able to transport them different places , caring for them , and keeping them in good health. That attracted me to wanting to become and expand my experience as a caregiver.

My name is Megan I'm 31 years old.. Caregiving gives me so much pride and makes my heart full. I have known since I was young what i wanted to do in life. I wanted to be a Mom, wife and I wanted to care for others. When I got my first job as a caregiver I knew I was right where I belonged. Its physically and mentally challenging on a loved one to always have to do everything and especially if their not trained or knowledgeable about what they need to do. Its honestly a full time job. That's where my help comes in. At the end of The day the stories I get to hear and the knowledge they share with me is priceless. These are people that have lived life and were once probably caring for someone else so now it's my turn to take care of them. I wanna show them they are still important and deserve to be cared for . I take care of each person with the joy and love as I did my very 1st client .. It still brings me so much happiness and just humbles me. I'm patient, I'm compassionate and very understanding. Most importantly I listen and talk with them. If they cant I will play music or read to them. I will bath them and change them if they are incontinent. My time with them Is just that. They have my full attention. It can be challenging and hard to trust someone with your loved ones. I vow to care for them professionally and compassionately.

I am 20 years old, and I wanted to become a caregiver because I thoroughly enjoy helping people in need. I plan to become a Registered Nurse so I can further my career in care giving. I am patient when it comes to taking care of the elderly, I am highly respectful of them and let them set the pace when there is a certain everyday living activity we are accomplishing; I do my best to encourage them and let them make decisions about their care so they can stay as independent as possible, and it is my personal goal each day to walk in with a smile on my face to ensure that my patient and their families know I am more than happy to help them in any way that I can. I am also very understanding when it comes to families worrying about certain things with their lived one(s) and do my best to assure them that I will always keep my patient's best interest at heart. I do my best to comfort families during the grieving process when their loved one(s) pass away by praying for them and telling them they will be in my prayers, and that God will be with them through the difficult time.

At 69 years old I am blessed to be able to continue with my choice of a care-giving career. Before retiring from teaching I decided to give care giving a try by working that summer with Home Instead Services. This experience prepared me and solidified the desire to offer my help to senior citizens. I am fulfilling a call to this area of service just like I did to teaching. I have made lasting and dear friendships through this choice.
