I am a patient and compassionate caregiver. I grew up caring for my Grandmother and Aunt, I enjoy the company of elderly people. I was attracted to be a caregiver because I feel as if it is my calling. I enjoy seeing the happiness and satisfaction on my clients when we accomplish tasks that seem difficult to them. A personal achievement for me is the bonds I create with my clients and just being able to make someone feel good about themselves.

What makes me an excellent caregiver...I am genuinely friendly and compassionate person. I love working with the elderly especially because you can learn so much from their experiences and life stories. My personal experience that really drove me to continually care for people was my only sister who passed away March 2015. She had renal failure and other health problems. I cared for her at our mother's home until her death. My mother was not strong enough to do all the care as far as her feeding tube and giving her medicine through it. Changing her briefs bathing and all other care. My bond with her was very strong and she always told me that I would work with people like her...when i was younger I did not understand but when she passed away it dawned on me. My sister was so free hearted loving funny and smart. I got my certification in memory of her and plan on furthering my education into Registered Nursing. I treat all my patients like my family and the way i would care for my own. Family is everything to me and being there beside them is even more special. Caregiving started from the womb with me that's what my mom tells me...thanks for allowing me to share

I have recently completed a CNA course at Jeff State Community College where I also completed a GED class, which were both fulfilling achievements. Although I am a naturally caring and nurturing person, my interest in this area sparked when my grandmother was diagnosed with alzhiemer and dementia didease 3 years ago. I have since helped in caring for her and watched the effect this disease had on individuals and their families. I believe that understanding the aging process is the 1st step to being an excellent caregiver.

I love taking care of people, I took care of my grandfather when I was 14 years old and then my grandmother and then my mother and I loved doing it, when the caregiver came out to my mother, I watched her and she was truly a blessing, and I realized that's what I wanted to do, I worked at Jaco so House with elderly people who had dementia and alztimers and I fell in love with those precious people, not only was I blessed to help take care of them I also became very attached to them and I sat down and got to spend one on one time with them, they enjoyed it and so did I, with some we danced, played games, and just simply talked, I love those precious souls just like they were my mother or father or daughter, I wouldn't trade it for nothing, it's a very rewarding job and above all I read the BIBLE to them and we talk about JESUS, and I know that JESUS has given me the opportunity to take care of HIS PRECIOUS CHILD!!! My heart is in it very deep and I take it very serious and I don't look at it as a job but as a gift, that JESUS trust's me enough to take excellent care of HIS children
