I have known since I was young what i wanted to do in life. I wanted to be a Mom, wife and I wanted to care for others. When I got my first job as a caregiver I knew I was right where I belonged. Its physically and mentally challenging on a loved one to always have to do everything and especially if their not trained or knowledgeable about what they need to do. Its honestly a full time job. I take care of each person with the joy and love as I did my very 1st client .. It still brings me so much happiness and just humbles me. I'm patient, I'm compassionate and very understanding. Most importantly I listen and talk with them. If they cant I will play music or read to them. I will bath them and change them if they are incontinent. My time with them Is just that. They have my full attention. It can be challenging and hard to trust someone with your loved ones. I vow to care for them professionally and compassionately.

I began my career in Healthcare in a hospital laboratory as a venipuncturist/phlebotomist in 1979 in Birmingham, Al. My job was to collect blood from the patients in every unit in this 7 floor hospital and through the years moved to other hospitals and clinics. My career took me in a different direction until a good friend called me and her father had passed and her mother has Alzheimer's. So I went to Florida from Alabama and attended the funeral and saw the need my friend had for her mother's care!! I volunteered to stay in Florida and take care of her. This I did until her mother needed more than one person to take care of her needs and was put in nursing home care. I then decided I would like to continue this kind of work and got my CNA license and I'm enjoying my job today more than ever because it's so rewarding and every client is so unique and different!!
