Hey, I'm Shakara Boles and for over the last 2 years and 4 months I been working with resident in a nursing home. I have a bachelors in psychology. But some where along the way I just fell in love with taking care of people. I knew that I wanted to help people but did not know it was by becoming a CNA. I'm very hardworking, determined, kind hearted, loving, and caring. Also ontop of working I am a mother of a 5 year old daughter and 6 months ago added another child into my daily routine my 4 year old niece. I'm a cheer coach ontop of that but never is to busy to take care of everything that's need to be done. I really didn't know what I would be doing after graduating school but before I graduated from college; I took a CNA course to make extra money but after doing it for so long I just fell in love with it all and I just couldn't leave it. I enjoy every moment about being a caregiver because I know I'm making a big difference into someone else life especially someone family member that they care for. It's never a dual moment having this as a career but it helps motivate you and keep you up on your toes to make sure that someone that is not related to you get all the help they need. I am proud of everything I have accomplish in my life time because I'm making a future that not only for me but my child and niece as well. One thing I am proud of that I can say is that becaming a CNA was the best decision I made because it helped me to become a better person and my love has grown even more because of this. I would not change any decision I made to become one.

I have known since I was young what i wanted to do in life. I wanted to be a Mom, wife and I wanted to care for others. When I got my first job as a caregiver I knew I was right where I belonged. Its physically and mentally challenging on a loved one to always have to do everything and especially if their not trained or knowledgeable about what they need to do. Its honestly a full time job. That's where my help comes in. At the end of The day the stories I get to hear and the knowledge they share with me is priceless. These are people that have lived life and were once probably caring for someone else so now it's my turn to take care of them. I wanna show them they are still important and deserve to be cared for . I take care of each person with the joy and love as I did my very 1st client .. It still brings me so much happiness and just humbles me. I'm patient, I'm compassionate and very understanding. Most importantly I listen and talk with them. If they cant I will play music or read to them. I will bath them and change them if they are incontinent. My time with them Is just that. They have my full attention. It can be challenging and hard to trust someone with your loved ones. I vow to care for them professionally and compassionately.

I AM A GREAT CAREGIVER BECAUSE I CARE, I CARE HOW THE PATIENT FEELS AND THE FAMILY. I LIKE TO IMAGINE THAT IF THE PATIENT WAS MY FAMILY MEMBER HOW THEY WOULD LIKE TO BE TREATED SO I TREAT THE PATIENT AS IF HE/SHE WAS A PART OF MY FAMILY. Hi my name is Kayla Campbell. I am a Certified Nurses Assistant. I have worked assisting the elderly residents for years now and love it. I enjoy caring and helping others as well as building a friendship. I wanted to be a caretaker because helping others with their daily routine is satisfying to me knowing I did something to be of assistance.

I became a Cargiver because I feel like it is a call from God. I like to help people and I fell like its rewarding to be able to have a job were you can give back.
