Turn and position patients; provide range of motion exercises; transfer patients to wheelchair/stretcher; assist with ambulation. Bathe patients; provide nail and hair care; assist with oral hygiene; provide denture care; shave patients; assist with dressing and undressing.Admit, transfer and discharge patients; transport patients; take specimen to lab; assist with special procedures; telephone answering; document and assist in unit record-keeping. I have always had a soft spot in my heart for children, and thought I would work with children as an adult. Well, I guess there was something else I was suppose to do with my life instead, and that is working with elderly people. I worked in a hospital several years ago, and most of our patients were elderly. I have done in home care, and that's when I realized what a tender heart I truly have for elderly people. They just make my heart sing! I like spending time talking with them, I have learned how wise most really are. I love being able to help them with daily personal chores or activities they can no longer do by themselves. I went to massage school and when one of my patients has pain sometimes I can help relieve some of the pain with a little massaging. When I feel like I have helped in a small way this can mean something greater to my patient. I do have a cna license.
