I have always been a care giver, I was a child care provider for 25 years and knew from day one that my future was in Senior care. When my mother became ill and ended up in a Senior home i knew I had to step up and get my mother home. I closed up my business of 25 years and spent the next year caring for my mother. I noticed immediately that my mother's health and her mental well being had improved greatly, I knew then how important it was for Seniors to remain in their own home, I spent a year with my mom and decided to hire a new caregiver for her so that we could go back to the mother daughter relationship instead of the senior caregiver relationship. I went in to two different home care companies to get more experience. I've helped some wonderful people stay in their home, I am very rewarded in this work and feel good deep down that I have been able to enable seniors to live healthily and with dignity in their chosen place of residents , and contributes to the caregiving needs of my community

I am an honest, trustworthy, punctual, patient, outgoing and a dependable person who has true Christian standards when it comes to how I take care of people. I'm detail oriented and believe in the safety and positive wellbeing of those that I care for. I became a caregiver because after assisting my mom with my father who succumbed to Alzheimer's & cancer and assisted my sister -in- law with my brother who succumbed to cancer, I knew from helping my family that I could help other families in need. I enjoy being their companion and making them smile when they are having a difficult day. I sing to those I take care of sometimes. My personal achievement that I am proud of honestly is that I feel I helped to keep one of my clients alive a whole year longer because based on my observation (I cared for her for 3 years) I suggested that the medication shouldn't be given unless it was necessary vs. 3 or 4 times a day and the family listened and that made us all happy.
