Nursing is a calling for me. Making sure that people receive the best possible care I am able to provide is my most important goal. Safety first always, compassion, dignity, privacy, respect and hope are all important attribute's that I find essential to good nursing care. It is a meaningful gratifying experience to know that I can add to someone's life and possibility bring goodness when health issues can be a challenge and so often depressing. Good nursing requires being completely present while in someone's home or in a facility. My standards are no cell phones while at work, no clock watching, and I always address people with respect by using MR.or Mrs. (last name) until I am encouraged otherwise. Using Mama or Papa and other terms of endearment are not appropriate for me personally in professional healthcare. Wanted to find my better traits when I started giving back to others, making myself more aware of the ageing process and what can be expected. I connect with people that I can help out as it opens my eyes and heart in different ways. Listening to others life stories how they may differ through the ages and yet how similar they may be. Gaining not only new personal experiences but friendships from clients to family members.

I became a caregiver to help others live a life to the fulliest in a happy safe environment with hope and happiness, I love seeing people feel good doing what they enjoy and seeing them smile. I have a wonderful family with three children all grown successfull and happy.

I grew up in a family of ten children and my grand mother lived with us. There was always things to do, people to care for. I loved it! And I still do today! I am available for two 24 hr shifts per week , or full time work, or part time evenings, weekens, eves, or night. I've been caring for others professionally for twelve years. All of my clients have become part of my heart, whether blessed to still be here, or passed on to their loved ones waiting. Over the years, I have acquired my HIPAA certification, studied home health, and even on the presidents list in my medical assisting studies which will be ongoing. HCSB licensed, TB tested, DOJ background cleared. I have supervised caregivers, been a hospice aide, and tried to incorporate laughter to every person's life. Our elderly have worked hard all their lives and need to be respected for their wisdom, honored for their experiences and cherished for them selves. I'm a Certified Nursing Assistant and a Certified Home Health Aide(California Dept of Public Health),with over three years experience in Hospice, Alzheimer's and Dementia Care, as well as experience in bathing, grooming and dressing, food/nutrition management, safety supervision, ambulation and transfers, medication reminders, and various activities of daily living. My experienced with seniors goes as far back as I can remember. As a child, I worked with my mom, whose home was a place of choice for her elderly friends and relatives. At an early age, I learned the importance of patience and empathy, as they are required in effectively supporting the unique needs of the elderly; they commonly experience disorientation and agitation. I was shaped and molded in a culture where there is immense respect for seniors. The elderly I provide services to are treated as I would treat my mom and dad, whom I so dearly loved, cherish and respect.
