I like the idea of being able to help someone so they're able to stay in their own home. I have a great time with my clients, and I make sure they are comfortable, and in a happy mood and all their needs are addressed. It gives me satisfaction knowing at the end of my day I have helped a fellow human being to make their days better, and that's a great feeling.

I really enjoy working with people in a home care setting, it is essential that a caregiver feel the desire to want to help. I think most importantly showing both empathy and compassion each day. I feel my happiest and best while helping out. It helps to put yourself in the other person's shoes and what it might be like to ask people for help. I am 25 years old, I have been a caregiver for a span of 4 years so far! Everything about being a caregiver is so important to me, from the tidy housekeeping, to companionship and client support is all crucial to me. The reason I became a caregiver was because my grandmother died alone in a nursing home. I have also worked in facilities. I left due to the fact I didn't like the way the clients were treated I couldn't give them enough attention. The reason why I love working in homes with one or two clients at a time is because you get to know them you get to bond with them and they become like family. 80% of my clients I have stayed with till the end and that is because most of my clients are terminal.

I've always enjoyed helping elderly people or people that can't help themselves people that are older than me they need so much help nowadays . I feel really blessed to be able to help someone that needs help. At the end of the day I feel blessed.

It all started with my first nanny job. I was 19 a young mother of 1 and introduced to a family who I still work pt for 16 years later. There were gaps in my employment with them due to changes in all our lives over the years. In the first break I started working as a caregiver in a care home. After a few months I came to the conclusion it just wasn't the environment for me. I tried a few other jobs but I was always drawn to help people. In 2009 I became my grandmother's ft In home caregiver. I then realized others needed help in their homes also. At some points I had 3-4 clients throughout the day. I have done it all...cooking, cleaning, shopping, transportation, errands, appointments, I can even mow the lawn if needed. I have worked my schedule to care for kids early morning hours providing care and transportation. I usually work late mornings and afternoons with seniors. I am honest, reliable, and trustworthy. I care for all my clients as if they were my own family.

I have been a CNA since 2003. I worked in Dietary for a convalescent home. During my time working in dietary, I saw that our residents needed lots of support and I wanted to make a difference. I have experience as a in home care provider for a bedridden patient. I provided wound care, nourishment by G tube, required medications, and daily ADLS. I have been primary care giver for my grandfather providing daily ADLs, medicine intake, and meals. When my mother became ill, I served as her primary care taker as well. She was bedridden, so I was responsible for providing her daily meds, wound care, managed her nourishment by TPN, and provided hourly body rotations to prevent bed sores. I learned how to do wound care, how to manage KCI wound vac, and I'm familiar with mechanical lifts and sliding boards for transferring. A personal achievement I am proud of is that hospital staff would compliment me on the care I was providing my mother. They were impressed that even though she was bedridden for over a year, she never got a bed sore. I love helping our patients and building relationships with them. At times I've been told not build relationship so it doesn't get personal, but I find that the more comfortable they feel with me, the more receptive they are to my support and I can provide better care. I'm a very caring and patient person, and I want to continue helping those in need.
