Hello and thank you for wanting to learn more about me. I have been caring for those in need intermittently for over 20 years and find a joy in helping individuals while maintaining their dignity. I have cared for a diverse range of individuals with many different needs ranging from assisting with fall risks to hospice. I started care giving when I was 18. I worked with children and young adults who had severe brain damage or physical disabilities. I then started caring for disabled adults through IHSS and eventually left the industry for many different reasons. I always found my way back, though, to work with those who have special needs, either in the administrative aspect or mentoring. Now, after caring for a dear friend, I have found myself wanting to stay in the care giving business once again. Some things I have experience with include ambulation, transfers, feeding and hygiene care, and expect other duties of a general sense to include light housekeeping and cooking. I have worked with individuals who suffer from Dementia, Alzheimer's, strokes, and MS. I tend to learn habits and preferences through observation and communication and try to anticipate my clients needs. For instance, I had a client who did not like her fingernails dirty and preferred to have her hair curled with a little bit of bangs. When she declined to the point of not being able to communicate anymore, I still made sure her fingernails were clean and her hair was curled just how she liked. I also add cognitive stimulation for clients who have Dementia and Alzheimer's and try to keep them engaged in familiar activities. Essentially, my goal is to be able to give the best care possible for the circumstance. I believe patience, kindness, and empathy are key to being a great caregiver. I am also a believer in allowing a client to do as much for themselves as possible for as long as they can.

I currently work as an instructor for a disabled-adult's day program in Stockton Ca. It has been an absolute joy to provide care and company for others. I have always enjoyed extending a helping hand to others whenever possible in both my personal and professional life. I always enjoy the company of others and I find it refreshing to have the opportunity to build relationships with such a diverse web of individuals. My greatest enjoyment about care-giving is the impact I am allowed to have on the lives of others. Aside from my professional life, I've always had the opportunity to provide care even in my personal life. My mother has a plethora of health conditions from sever arthritis to being Bi-Polar. My sister and nephew are also also autistic and my spouse also manages Ehlors- Danlos Syndrome. I assist him with daily activities and mobility restraints. I hope to provide excellent care for as many individuals as I can.

I recently moved to California from South Dakota after receiving my Bachelors of Science degree in both Biology and Physical Science. I have several years of experience caring for a range of people including the elderly and disabled. I provide compassionate and thorough care to all of my clients and ensure that they receive care that exponentially improves their quality of life. Dignity and respect are at the forefront of the care I provide and I am able to think critically and quickly under stress. Caregiving is such a wonderful career because I have the ability to ensure my clients' physical care needs are being met and their mental and emotional wellbeing is thriving. I still keep in touch with several of my past clients in South Dakota via handwritten letters and I often times have family members request my services for their loved ones after I meet them for the first time. Being a caregiver is such a fulfilling and gratifying career because I have the direct ability to make someones quality of life the best it can be.

I have had my husband & 21 year old son loose their battles against cancer within 6 years apart. I found that caring for them without any assistance was a great challenge that I concorded alone. The medical perfessionals were superb in their help and we work together well. I gained a vast amount of knowledge & experience regarding both colon cancer & osteosarcoma of which my guys suffered, dealing with chemotherapy & surgeries. Even though they lost their battles, I found that a part of me is has become more loving & understand of human sufferage than ever before. I am blessed to be strong and I am appreciative of having good health, and the ability to help others in need of care and companionship. I am also, both patient and loving, having been through such devastating experiences with my loved ones. I have dedicated myself to assisting people in need and l love what I do. I have been working in this field since 2010 and was hired by Rescare soon after my husband passed in 2016. I feel I have something to "give back", and I will be happy to do so by assisting your loved one's in need of loving and respectful care. It will be my pleasure to assist your family with the best of my training and experience. I am certified in CPR, First Aid, Fire & Safety & have taken a Altzheimer/Dementia training course. I am registered with the CA State Registery for Care Givers & Certified. I have have taken & passed numerous Care Giver classes including: HIPPA, Senior Care assistance in all aspects of care, and have passed in depth Finger Print screening. Also, I have broviach catather & colostomy care experience & was trained via Children's Hospita & Emmanuel Memorial hospitals professionals. Hello, I'm an LVN, but before I was an LVN I was a caregiver at a senior living facility. I am very caring, compassionate and responsible. I first became a caregiver when I decided that I wanted to become a nurse. I thought it would be a great experience to help people and learn a little bit more about the non-medical aspect of helping people heal. I fell in love with my job as a caregiver, listening to my residents stories, going on walks with them, helping them get through tough days and enjoying the good days. The amazing thing about working with the same people everyday was that I was able to bond and care for them as if though they were my family members. I worked there for two years, got through collage and enrolled in the LVN program and graduated, got my LVN license and my IV/ blood withdrawal certification, worked in the field but I decided that I missed caregiving.
