I was recently the caregiver for an elderly man named Jack for the past three years. Unfortunately he has passed. Jack was 90 when he passed. I worked with him for 3 years and it was my absolute pleasure. He had Parkinson's disease as well as onset dementia and needed extensive care with most aspects of ADL's but could perform certain tasks independently. This has taught me that not all peoples limitations are the same, we must work to figure out strengths and weaknesses so we can be of assistance and not take away ones independence.
