I have compassion for the elderly. Seeing that we all will one day be in their shoes. I pray one day to receive.., the same compassionate, honest, and reliable care. That I have provided to all my clients. I have worked at a couple of agencies: Home Instead, Love 2 Live, Meridian, and Caring Sr Services (changed to Aaron Caring Services) 01/01/18. I even was hired to work at a Senior facility (Monte Vista). Realizing my calling was in in-home services. I chose not to accept the position. I have done several years of private in-home care. I have alot care to give to my clients.., personalizing to each of their needs. I have experienced several types of clients. Ranging from Dementia to a Brain Tumor Hospice client. I actually love what I do and would take of you or your love one. To the best of my ability
When I was applying for different kind of jobs (manufacturing, warehouse) where I had more than 15 years experience, I was offer a position as caregiver of a lovely 90 years old lady, we got along since the first moment and became her part time cg. I found out that I have that special touch so much needed when working with elderly. I treat them with respect. I know it must not be easy losing your independence and if at home, seeing "strangers" coming into your house and practically take control over your stuf. That's why I like asking them (when posible) how they like things being done in their house.
I have tremendous empathy, patience and respect for each client. I treat each one as I do my father, whom I have been caring for the last 2 years. Before caregiving, I managed restaurants for 23 years. I have ALWAYS been a customer service focused person. I wanted to make a change that fulfilled my heart. The thing I enjoy most about my job is assisting people with retaining their independence and self respect, even with a disability. Everyone needs to feel productive, like they contribute. The personal achievement that I am most proud of is that in the last year I have gotten my dad into the best mental, nutritional health that he has been in in the last 30 years.

I first learned that I enjoyed patient-care back when I was a medical assistant in a private practice. I enjoyed learning and caring for others. I became a personal caregiver in 2005, and since then I have been able to assist many individuals and their families. I have found that my love for patient care today is done at a more personal level because every individual that I have assisted has their own personal needs; some need help with recovery, while others just need comforting and care through their aging process. By assisting patients in their home, to keep their routines, help them with medications, or just the in the simple act of being a good listener, I have found makes the world of difference to them--I am happy to have made a difference in someone's life. I am very proud of being a professional caregiver. Care-giving is an occupation which I have chosen and in many ways it has chosen me. My life has been influence by the many fine people of which I have had the privilege of knowing and providing care. Many of these individuals gave me the greatest gift that one can receive- their knowledge and experiences. I have a little more understanding of life and history as seen through their eyes. It has been a privileged to care and provide comfort.

What I liked with this job is the reward that you can feel in your heart. Once you genuinely work with them and attended on their needs, even on their difficult moment they can still recognized you and in their eyes you will see they need and trusted you. What I liked with this job, it's an extention of being me as if I'm helping my own parents who were far from me. I always loved to hold them in their hand because that gesture alone they feel what kind of person you are, they loved warm hands. Client that I worked with are people with Alzheimer's, dementia, with catheters, bedbound, recovering from fracture or operation, behavioral problem, heart problem and diabetics.
