I'm a philanthropist in caregiving as I feel the want and need to pay it forward to the elderly, sick, and disabled population. I desire to help seniors because without them; our young generation would have never had the proper guidance in life. My need to give to the sick and disabled population has stemmed from very personal life experiences. What I have observed is most of the sick and disabled population are significantly left out or overlooked in many aspects of life. Compassion, high empathy, respect, patience, understanding, upbeat attitude, and a great friend are helpful personal traits that make me an exceptional caregiver. Making someone's day a lot brighter, assisting a laugh, or helping the old, sick, and disabled produce a smile on a consistent basis is my love and attraction to the caregiving sector.

I am a happy, healthy, compassionate, loyal, patient, loving person who found my caregiver calling late in life. I am 66 years old and have been doing this for a little over 12 years and love what I do. I started when a couple different neighbors of mine were ill and didn't have any family to help them. I had my CPR CERT so I said why not and when they were doing better I decided to make this my work. (Experience through: IHSS, CARE.COM, CARELINX & CAMBRIAN HOME CARE) The first client I had was in very bad shape when I met him, diabetes, renal failure, heart failure, living on his own, not keeping up with his meds or taking his insulin properly. I called his Dr. got him on a med schedule and with the right food, TLC and exercise he did quite well. Since then I have had several different clients, one was on hospice and others I took to Dr appts., med Mgmt. , meal prep, errands and companionship. I'm looking now because one of my clients I had been caring for since 2015, unfortunately she passed away early November. I enjoy my work and I work very hard! Thank you so much, Cindy

Besides experience and knowledge I acquired from nursing school, helping others has always been my passion. I find joy and fulfillment knowing I make a difference in someone else's life. I am patient and willing to adjust to the needs of my clients. I try to put myself in their shoes, to try and understand them. I treat my patients with love and respect, and with dignity, just like how I would want to be treated if I was in their same situation. Since I was a young age, I have always been interested in helping other people. I enjoy helping others who have trouble helping themselves especially the elderly. I completed my vocational nursing studies in 2012 and it was at that point I realised that helping people is my calling. I love that being a caregiver, you can make a difference. It's a rewarding experience providing care and assistance to those who are no longer able to do so and to know that I have done my job right when I see smiles on their faces. I'm a good nature, compassionate, very caring to people and natural in caregiving, I have 12 hours certification on Caregiver Core, and 11hours certification on Mental Health, and I'm currently still finishing up my 23 hours online class with dementia care certifications. As a young kid at 11 years old, I help take of my aunts mom who had Alzheimer's, took care of my sick brother who was in and out of hospital for 3 months. Later in my life when I got here I got here in the bus by 2008 I took care of my mother who just a had stroke she bed bound for over a year, I was 24 hours caregiver, she recovered from in the middle of 2010, and then early 2012 she was diagnosed of stage 4 lung cancer, I took care of until she past away four months later. After she past then I became my father in-laws primary caregiver as o have been already during the time my mother in-law is sick. My father in-law suffers from deabetes type 2, and dementia was there for him from the beginning until the end stage of dementia and eventually until he past away on June, 2015- I discover since I was young that I love caring for people I love to make people happy,...I know that caregiving is gift that I was born with, I know that this is hard job for a lot people if it's not nature to take on big responsibility. I take that responsibility seriously just like I would care for my own family.
