Having worked in the healthcare field for over 31 years. Caregiving for 27 years. I have found assisting people to either regain or maintain their health has been rewarding. However my most rewarding has been assisting the elderly as well as physical and or mentally challenged meet their health goals. As our population grows older, and health challenged, I feel the best respect you can give them is to assist them in maintaining as much of their independence as possible. I currently hold an Associates Degree in Healthcare Administration, I'm currently attending school seeking a bachelors of science degree in Professional Studies.

Hello family, My name is Chukwunonso, but I usually go by "Oz" just to make everyone's life easier :) I am outgoing, playful, and keen to detail. Moreover, I have a big heart! and I always put myself in people's shoes before I say or do anything. With that being said, I have the capacity to care for your loved ones as if they are mine! My desire to become a caregiver stem from when I used to take care of my sick elderly grandmothers. I quickly realized that providing care to those who are unable was something that brought me joy, as well as a sense of purpose. I love getting to know the people I am taking care of. Building a trusting relationship is very pivotal in the overall benefit of a client's well-being. Lastly, I recently graduated (05/2022) with my B.S. Kinesiology so I am very excited about that! What make's me a great care giver is that i look at the person i'm caring for is my family an i would want someone to care for me as if i was there family. The reason i became a caregiver was because i love giving back an to know i put a smile on someone face is a great joy for me. What i like about being a caregiver is knowing i made a change in someone life. What i'm proud of is knowing that i made a difference in someone life knowing that i can give to someone that needs my help an being able to do it for them.

I have been doing private care off and on for 20 years. I was raised with 3 of my great grandparents and have always been told to respect and help my elders. I feel that many people were not raised with those morals and I pride myself on being a compassionate & caring caregiver. I started out being a caregiver with just my family, and over the years I decided to further my career & education; I was a CNA by 18 years of age, then worked in that capacity for many years, then I was a phlebotomist, a drug screener, a medical office secretary, a clinical medical assistant, and now I am enrolled in college to become a RN. I am very compassionate, empathetic, and understand that elders with dementia issues require a little more care & someone who will not get offended by what they say, and one who will just talk to them with respect.
