I am 21 years old. I have been a HHA for 5 years. I absolutely love the work field I chose as my career. I am a very smart, intelligent and reliable young lady. I am very respectful of everyone and everything around me.

What makes me a great caregiver is that I'm a caring loving person and I care about my clients/residents and how they feel, I'm a very understanding person, working as a caregiver I consider it my calling not just a job ,I become a caregiver due to being encouraged by my grandmother who is no longer with me, giving her the best care in her last moments and hearing her say you will make a good nurse someday really encouraged me to get in this field, It became a part of me and every person I care for I remember what my granny said to me, So I do it to the best of my ability and each person I touch I try to make a difference in their lives, what I like about being a caregiver is comforting my clients,making them feel safe and secure being there for them just listening to them,understanding their needs ,comforting them and knowing I'm making a difference in their lives.My Personal Achievement is I'm proud I can make someone mom or dad smile and to hear that I'm doing a great d job with their family member,and being able to make a difference is what makes the difference

Cared for my mom for 8 years, before working with seniors. My mom was an extremely sweet and loving person. My mom also cared for seniors during her lifetime. During that time, I would help my mom caring for seniors, so as an adult, it was second nature to me too care for seniors. I've worked as a caregiver for 7 years. In those 7 years, I've prepared meals, taken seniors to their appointments, taken blood pressure, and am certified too assist with medications.

I was directly responsible for assisting in their personal hygiene, administering their medications and above all, providing the psychological motivation and attention my patients needed. After earning my degree in Social Work in 1986, from SUAM University in Brazil (degree fully recognized today here in the United States), I started working as a Social Worker. I kept this Profession until the year 2000, when I moved to the USA . Aside from my B.A., I am also a Certified Nursing Assistant/Health Care Aide, by the American Red Cross. I am skillful on web browsing, Microsoft Office and Windows. I speak fluent Portuguese and English. My goal is to find a stable position where I am able to do the job I enjoy. I believe this position is a good match for my skills.
